Thanksgiving weekend 2008

Hello Family!

Amy and I hope all of you had a fun and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend! This year Amy had the pleasure of having Amy’s parents, my mom, Julie, Joe, and Amber for dinner on Thanksgiving. The meal was traditional was WONDERFUL with turkey and all the trimmings followed up by Amy’s perfect apple, pumpkin, and shoe-fly pies (yes…there were three pies for only 8 people !!!!)

On Friday, Amy and I went to Salida to watch the annual Christmas parade followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree and fireworks on Tenderfoot Mountain visible from Main Street in downtown Salida. After the mountain lighting parade, we walked along the path in Riverside Park which was lined with dozens of decorated Christmas trees then headed to the Salida Steam Plant Theater for some free hot chocolate, cookies, and dancing to some live jazz.

On Saturday it was cool but clear and we hiked along some wonderful trails near Buena Vista followed by some great live (and unusal) music ([kind of middle eastern blue grass] at our Bongo Billies Salida café.

We hope each of you were able to make some “memories” over the weekend. Amy and I are so very, very thankful to have each of you in our lives. We are truly blessed!!!

Peace and good health to all of you!!!!

Love,

Greg and Amy

Biketown Africa

Hey Guys,

Take a look at this youtube video. I think it's very interesting. If anyone is looking for a new cruiser bike... Maybe you can buy an "AfricaBike" from Kona. For every two bikes sold they donate one to these villages.

My mom's 82nd birthday and a hunting trip to South Dakota with Joey!

Amy and I are fine and we hope all of you are also in good health and spirits! On November 2nd my mother threw a "by me for me" birthday party to which all immediate family members received invitations with a hand written note saying, "i expect you to be there!" Soooo......with lots of laughter and good wishes everyone attended to help my mom celebrate her 82nd birthday!

Another November event in our family was the annual Pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. I've been going to the same farm for the past 12 years with some very good friends and this year Joe (Jr) joined me. The trip is something I always look forward to but having Joe with me made this year's trip extra special.

THE QUARTET

How just a "regular" Thursday turned into a "great" one when we got the following e-mail from Sue:

"Hi guys!
I didn't write sooner because I didn't know if we were going to sound good until last night. Manuel Molina and I have put together a quartet again and will be playing this evening at the restaurant listed below. Plush is apparently a Caribbean restaurant and I was told very affordable. Anyway, with this short notice I most likely won't see any of your friendly faces, but thought it was worth the effort to invite you. I think we're going to sound pretty good. We will be performing all kinds of Latin flavored music (Bossa Novas, Boleros, Peruvian Waltzes, Folkloric Music, Organic Salsas and Rumbas Flamencas, and more...). First set we were asked to make mellow and second set can get more festive.

We play from 6:30- 9, I was told, which most likely means 6:30-7:30, then 8:00-9:00 The line up is: Manuel Molina (Guitar/Vocals), JD Maniscalco (Drums), Meme Gascon (Bass/Vocals) and me, Suzanne Morales (Guitar/Vocals). If it works out for you then maybe I'll see you. The restaurant is in Cherry Creek. We're hoping to develop another Chianti's, an experience in the past that we hold dear to our hearts.

Love you all! No pressure.
