Wow......here it is Feb 13th and I have been been meaning to update the Avocado for the past six weeks..... just got very busy like everyone else.
First off...Christmas 2008! Amy's sister and husband (Barbara and Lance) flew in from Florida and helped us celebrate the holidays with grandparents and Julie/Joe/Amber. It is always so nice to have several generations around to celebrate the holidays and the joy of being together with loved ones!

January 8th......and January 25th.....were birthday celebrations for Amber and Amy. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures of these "yearly passages".....but we celebrated in the usual ways (for those of you who know Amber well.......that should bring a smile)!!!!
Finally, in late January Amy and I spent four days in San Antonio, Texas. I was there for a conference and Amy came along because she has a life long childhood friend who lives in San Antonio and she had some time to catch up while I worked during the day. In the evenings we enjoyed walking the River Walk (our hotel was on the River Walk and one block from the Alamo).....taking in a movie (Grand Toreno....pretty good!!!) .....catching a Joshua Bell concert at the Majestic Theater (Joshua Bell was amazing and the old Majestic Theater has been restored and it is absolutely beautiful !!!!), and riding bikes in the King William Historic District (beautiful old turn of the century homes) and along the Mission Trail stopping at several of the old missions.
