MELISSA'S BIRTHDAY

Melissa, our niece who lives in Mexico City, turned 17 years old on September 21st. When her Mom, Jessica, (Raquel's sister) asked her what she wanted for her birthday, Melissa said she wanted to fly to Denver to pick up Vinny. Vinny is a 4 year old chocolate colored chihuahua Sue adopted around March of this year. Melissa and her Mom, Jessica, were looking for a boy chihuahua that would keep their girl chihuahua, Blanca, company. (I hope you got all that) .

SO, we had this great adoption fit and figured we'd come up for a way to get Vinny to his new home in Mexico City. Although it took a while to make it happen, Melissa flew in last Saturday, spent 2 days with us, and took Vinny back with her.

The trip was so FAST we actually didn't take pictures of Melissa and Vinny together , which is a real shame, as they looked so perfect with each other. I told Sue that when we took Melissa to the airport on Tuesday, she was wearing her skinny jeans, her pink rain boots up to the knee, her long, silky, black hair was down, a pink hoodie, (Pink IS her favorite color) the bag that Joey and Julie gave her for her birthday and Vinny pressed against her chest. She just looked like the PARIS HILTON OF MEXICO CITY.

People were flocking to her to see Vinny up close and to pet and talk to him, the baggage guys, the security guards, the vendors , the fellow travellers..........It was a sight to appreciate and I'm very sorry we didn't have our camera at the airport.
We did take other pictures during the two fast and furious days she was here. We hope you enjoy them.

Sue, thanks for taking care of Vinny until we could get him to his new home, and the home of his ancestors. I've told the story of Vinny, the chihuahua from Denver that went to live in Mexico City, and people say "Isn't that turned around ?.... Backwards ? .....Aren't you supposed to be able to get Chihuahuas in Mexico ????.....Not this one.......and let me tell you...HE IS SPECIAL!

THE BIRTHDAY GIRL.

Josh decided to practice his Spanish with his cousin and kept telling Meli "El Vinny esta Padrisimo!"

With the Cali Couple : They sang Meli a song in Spanish that they learned when they worked in Mexico City , about a girl who's 17 : "Dies y Siete Anos....."Amigo.. Sabes... acabo de conocer....... Una mujer......" They know ALL the words and Jumie was even doing the correct intonations. How can they remember after all these years ?

Meli takes Dance lessons in Mexico and was teaching uncle Joe how to dance CAPOEIRA, a dance form incorporating martial arts elements, originating in Brazil as a system of physical discipline and movement.

Meli ducking down so Joe would kick his leg over her head..............but for some reason, Joe kept ducking down too..............HA, HA, HA....

With Uncle Joe.

HELL'S ANGELS ON THE ELEKTRA GLIDE.......Joe took Meli to the Castle Rock Outlets to return some merchandise.

AND ON THE FAT BOY.

!FELIZ CUMPLEANOS MELI!
